Which brand & colour are you wearing in your picture?
Manic Panic After Midnight and Purple Haze at the roots, Blue Moon in the middle, and a little Atomic Turquoise for the tips.
How does this hair colour make you feel?
Ethereal, something between a dangerous mermaid and a goth-wanna-be fairy. But in a fun way. It brightens up my face more than the dark purple that I wore for two years before this. And every time I look at it, I can't help ear-worming "I'm blue, daba dee daba daaaa" (yes, yes, I'm old haha)
How was your hair before you applied the colour (ie pre-bleached, growing out old colour, etc)?
I used a fade of purple and dark blue around my head, and had already a year of growth. So I used a color remover for the tinted parts and bleached the growth, twice because my hair is a brown so dark it's almost black.
What is your favourite hair dye brand and what is so great about it?
Until now, Manic Panic. It is affordable, easy to apply, and has a mild conditioning effect on my very damaged hair. I would like to try other brands in the future.
Your no.1 advice for dyeing your own hair is:
BE THOROUGH! I know sometimes we don't have the patience to follow specific instructions, practice, test things, organize, follow a detailed method, and we just want to go at it and whatever. But if you are patient and do things well, you will have better results and less damage. Also: Bond building/bond protecting/bond repair products. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize.
